California republicans are pushing back against Governor Newsom’s plan to re-draw the state’s Congressional boundaries, making them more friendly to democrats. Congressman Kevin Kiley is filing legislation that would cancel out new maps adopted by states before the 2030 census. Because he says, if Governor Newsom gets his way, California republicans would hold only about 6% of the state’s seats in Congress. His district is likely to be one of the areas targeted in Newsom’s redistricting plan.
