Police Officer Killed In Shootout With Suspect

A police officer in Southern California is dead after a shootout with a murder suspect. L.A. County Sheriff’s officials say Baldwin Park Police Officer Samuel Riveros was responding to a call about gunshots Saturday evening at a local home when he was shot right after arriving on scene. One other victim was found dead from gunshot wounds while a second police officer was wounded and has been released from the hospital. The unidentified suspect was shot by other police officers and taken into custody. He’s now in stable condition at a hospital. Investigators believe the initial shots fired were the result of an argument over a parking space.
