A rooftop homeless encampment is causing a Los Angeles doctor to quit her business. Dr. Tahani Soliman tells KTLA-5 News that a homeless encampment on the roof of the building adjacent to her office in Huntington Park has been wreaking havoc for years.
She says they have access to her building through a parking garage and have destroyed her roof by setting fires, vandalizing air conditioning units and more. She says she’s tried fencing, barbed wire and other ways to block her roof, but nothing has worked. Soliman says after more than $100,000 in repairs and no help from city officials, she’s quitting.
City officials tell KTLA they are investigating the situation.
