Bill Aims to Ban Semi-Automatic Handguns

A California lawmaker wants to ban semi-automatic handguns in the state. Assemblymember Jesse Gabriel from Encino wants to stop people from converting semi-automatic pistols into what he is calling handheld machine guns. Gun rights groups say it’s just another attempt from lawmakers to strip away a constitutional right. Gabriel’s bill goes to the Assembly Appropriations Committee later this month.
