Shoppers beware, four California cities are listed among the worst for retail theft – and Los Angeles is number one. The National Retail Federation found Oakland and San Francisco are the second most affected with Sacramento coming in seventh out of ten.
Recent data shows the Bay Area saw the biggest jump in shoplifting rates last year. The state is fighting back by giving counties more money to hire officers and make more arrests.
